Fellowship

Club’s 21th Chapter meeting started on time with fellowship, Club members and Exco were engaged in welcoming the guests, introducing themselves and briefing the activities to the guests and visiting toastmasters, making them comfortable and clearing their doubts.

Meeting called to the Order
Sargent at Arms TM Anand Prakash DeshPande called the 21th Chapter meeting to order by welcoming all members present and guests. After quoting pearl of wisdom from Bhagwat Gita on outcome, He requested members and guests to introduce themselves. Everyone present in the meeting got opportunity to introduce themselves.

Toastmaster of the day
Toast Master of the day TM Chan Manman, CC kicked off the meeting by introducing agenda of the meeting and provided the details of the changes in agenda and introduced the role holders and their roles.

The Word of the Day
TM Tan Tian Huat Jack, ACB provided the words of the day. Instead of giving a single word, he requested speaker not to use the word “GOOD” as this word is overly used rather use the words like Handsome, Adorable, Marvelous, Charismatic, Enlighten, Lovely etc.

Opening Address by Club President:
Club President TM Pravin Mishra, CC, CL began his opening address by cheering the club by broadcasting the news that till date 32 new members have joined the club during the current term, which definitely reflects that club is doing great and we are on right track.
He mentioned that at our club, it is all about following core toastmasters club values, good rapport among club members, teamwork & unity.

He further added our Toastmasters club is just like a forest of redwoods. As each one of us is progressing in his or her own journey to be a stalwart in public speaking, an effective and positive leader; we are also supporting others to progress. The bonds among the club members give constant encouragement to do our best and get better each time!

I truly feel that this camaraderie is the secret behind the success of Changi Simei Toastmasters club and all the Toastmasters clubs around the world.
 
Changi Simei Toastmasters club provides a platform to share ideas, thoughts, inspiring experiences; a platform to make mistakes, get constructive feedback and learn; a platform to meet charismatic speakers, leaders and like-minded individuals. He thanked everyone for making Changi Simei Toastmasters club true to its motto “Fun to Speak, Fun to Lead”.

Refreshment break
Meeting adjourned for 25 minutes for the munching and networking and a club ritual, every 3rd Saturday Birthday celebration cake was cut along with snacks and drinks. All Toastmasters and guests present in the meeting sung the birthday song for club member Hee Fone Pang.

Table Topic Session
Table Topic Master TM Zheng Wei Xu conducted a very passionate and energetic table topics session on the variety of motivation quotes with a huge volunteer participants.

Language Evaluation
TM Tan Tian Huat Jack, ACB, provided language evaluation for the good and improper user of English language and also provided the details who has used the word good and replaced the word good with other words.
General Evaluation
Visiting TM Eric Tan, CC, ALB from AIA TMC provided very interesting and insightful general evaluation. He beautifully described how we can add value and evaluation and how it can be aligned with project objectives.
He provided the specific feedback as well and covered complete chapter meeting from starting till end.

His general evaluation was valuable and everyone learned a lot from his evaluation.

Fellowship

Club’s 20th Chapter meeting started on time with fellowship, Club members and Exco were engaged in welcoming the guests, introducing themselves and briefing the activities to the guests and visiting toastmasters, making them comfortable and clearing their doubts.

Meeting called to the Order
Sargent at Arms TM Neo Yen Ping, ACS, ALB called the 20th Chapter meeting to order by welcoming all present members and guests. He requested guests to introduce themselves. Every guest got opportunity to introduce themselves.

Toastmaster of the day
Toast Master of the day TM Namrata Amit Thakare,CC kicked off the meeting by introducing agenda of the meeting and provided the details of the changes in agenda and introduced the role holders and their roles.

The Word of the Day
TM Pradeep Kumar, DTM provided the word of the day “Manzil” and provided various usage of the word and encouraged participants to use the word of the day.

Opening Address by Club President:
Club President TM Pravin Mishra, CC, CL began his speech by cheering the club by broadcasting the news that club has achieved one more accolade during the current term. We managed to get ‘Talk up Toastmasters Ribbon’ as club has managed to recruit 5 new members during the period Feb-March 2017.
Club has also managed to score 10 DCP points during the term 2016-17.
He further shared the story of Japanese fishing industry that how constant struggle help them to come with the idea of putting sharks in fish tanks. To keep the fish tasting fresh, the Japanese fishing companies still put the fish in the tanks but with a small shark. The fish are challenged and hence are constantly on the move. The challenge they face keeps them alive and fresh!    
He further suggested that, if we always put limits on what we can do, physical or anything else, it’ll spread over into the rest of our life. We should put sharks in our tanks (challenge our limits) and see how far we can really go.
