Meeting called to Order
SAA Justin Lai called the meeting to order. The meeting started with an icebreaker session where members introduced themselves to one another and shared their views about the Theme of the day.
Programme for the day
Thereafter, the Toastmaster of the day, Manoj Chugani, introduced the role holders and their responsibilities. For the benefit of the guests and new members he shared the sequence of events.
Opening address by Club President
Club President, Neo Yen Ping kicked of the meeting by welcoming everyone to this first chapter meeting for 2019. She made the point about setting goals and achieving them. Two mistakes prevent us from achieving. Firstly, not starting. And secondly, not making it all the way through. We need to take action - for example, come to the meetings, and we should aim to deliver and complete the projects.

Meeting adjourned for 30 minutes for munching and networking break.

Rajesh Kumar Dharmalingam, CC, conducted the session on “A picture speaks a thousand words”. Members and guests were invited to hone their impromptu speaking skills by speaking up to 2 minutes in relation to a picture image which they selected related to the theme of environment and sustainability.
